Borrowing Books

As we spend more and more of our lives online, it's easy to forget that libraries remain one of the few truly free public spaces available to everyone.

They can be third spaces to discover new stories, escape the noise of everyday life, and spend a quiet hour with a good book.

If you'd like to read Smoke & Mirrors, or any book, but would rather not buy a copy, visit your local library and ask if they can order it for you. Most libraries are happy to source books requested by their readers.

When your copy arrives, take a moment to enjoy the calm atmosphere that libraries provide. In a world that rarely slows down, they're a reminder that some of our best experiences still happen away from a screen.

A personal note to librarians: more cats should be allowed to wander the shelves. I'm convinced it would encourage visitors.
